At Dwyer Cattle we also run a cow herd of over 75 base Registered Simmental & Angus cows. Our numbers vary throughout the season but we try to maintain a high quality nucleus of cows throughout the year. The cattle we keep back must maintain an eye-appealing look while still raising a premium calf every year, and settling within a tight calving interval. We cull our herd hard to improve your bottomline, our selection criteria revolves around AI or ET breeding, calf growth, performance, and health. Cows who produce unhealthy/low vigor calves are culled quickly. Donors are selected based on production, not initial cost to sift out the best possible genetics on the farm at a given time. Cattle are marketed all throughout the year.
